Origins Update 7th December 22
PEACE PAGODA DAY - SUNDAY DECEMBER 11th

11am blessings, followed by a shared lunch at 12.30, please bring a plate to share.
Welcome everyone to this 21st year in celebrating the building of this beautiful Mon Stupa, dedicated to the worthy effort of World Peace .
This stupa is a symbol, a reminder to make Peace / Reconciliation.
This IS possible!
The great teaching of the Buddha Gautama Sakyamuni, Mahasatipattana, shows the steps to take, we all have a place in this march to Peace, both on the inner personal plane and our outer actions in the world.

This stupa was built under the auspices of Ven. Sayadaw U This Wunta. The oldest member of the oldest Buddhist Lineage that stems directly back to Buddha himself.  A Mon forest dwelling monk for 20 or more years, who was then asked to come and build a monastery dedicated to his teacher, the famous Aung Min Gaung in Yangon, Myanmar.

Our founding teacher George Dawson, then to be ordained Ananda Bodhi, met and studied under Ven. Sayadaw in the late 1950s.
And so our connection was made with this ancient lineage. Ananda Bodhi later met the Tibetan Karma Kagyu and became Ven. Namgyal Rinpoche.
Our dear friend and teacher Chime Shore or Amara Kirti (his Burmese ordained name) studied and was ordained with these teachers, and so Origins Centre members under Chime Shore came to build this stupa on Ven. Sayadaws request here at Origins Centre in December 2001.

We welcome you all to come and celebrate this day with flower and water offerings.

LAMA CHIME'S HEALTH
As you may know, our dear friend Chime has had a series of small strokes and on Thursday will have surgery to clear the blockage. He is recovering well from the stroke, and is strengthened by all the good wishes and visiting family.
Prayers and best wishes are coming in from all over the world, and we wish him a speedy recovery; go well friend.
Deep thanks from us all for his guidance, enthusiasm and care that he brings to Origins Centre and his many friends.
