Origins Centre Update 4th December 2019
LAST FOR THE YEAR
What a wonderful, full and interesting year it has been! Today is the last committee meeting of the year already. The Mindfulness weekend on Dec. 14th & 15th is the last weekend, and then the centre is closed to normal use and re-opens Feb 3rd. The next Kindy is on Feb 5th, and the next Update and Committee meeting will be on Feb 12th.
GRATITUDE TO ALL INVOLVED
Throughout a year, a lot is done by quite a few people. All of the admin, maintenance, gardening and cleaning; enviro work, building and thinking; eating, cooking and cleaning up; instructing, teaching, hosting; fundraising, planning and on we go and on. All this is it’s own thanks I think, freely given and much appreciated. May the goodwill, good work and friendships continue. May we get stronger and more useful to our community nearby as well as those friends who travel here from other places. Thank you, thank you one and all!
It seems we are more integrated into the nearby community and this is very good for Origins. 2020 is already looking to grow this aspect of Origins moving it closer to the support of local community, especially during the day and for recitals too.
Timbo will be here from later in January to manage the artist residencies. He has ideas and energy to continue the good work of Lachlan and Lauren. They and Jasper were kindly taken to the airport by Chrissy early this morning, heading for their new life back in Tassie. Everyone had such good benefit from their being here and the feeling was very much mutual. Our connection will go on.
ENVIRONMENT AND FIRE PREPARATION
A lot of good work is going on. It’s always a big job and requires a fair outlay of money to pay for the work we cannot do alone. Our workers are really good and do extra where they can.
Now is a good time to offer financial support. It will be well used and much appreciated.
FAMILY RETREAT AND PEACE PAGODA DAY
We certainly inaugurated the new bell! I think you may need to check fb for some idea. All I can say, it was marvellous, relaxed and full and happy! Looking forward to next year. Special thanks to all the children, so many and such a pleasure to be around. You matter very much to this place.
Yes, there is a hold up but no, we haven’t given up at all, only a glitch. You’ll hear more after Christmas. Many thanks to those who have recorded. Please hang on and do more if you like!
