Thank you for all your support at the Origins Centre this year. It’s been a year of steady growth, practical improvements, and quiet, heartfelt service. As many of you know, the Centre is always evolving, and this year has been no exception. We’ve continued to refine our rhythms, organise our spaces, and strengthen the foundations that help this place function as a peaceful refuge for anyone who visits.
We remain committed to making the Origins Centre a beautiful place of respite, reflection, and connection. As we move toward a new year, we look forward to continuing this work and welcoming you into whatever unfolds next.
Welcome to Lama Sonam The Lineages and the transmission behind our practice are truly the lifeblood of the teachings. They are so important to the health and vitality of the teachings, caring for us all. It is therefore helpful and encouraging, after working with Lama Sonam (Ian Hackett) for many years, to know that he is able to accept the role of Resident Elder Lama at Origins Centre and Coorain beginning in February 2026. Chime, Anne, Sonam, and the Committee will continue to work closely together throughout the coming year. Sonam's interests and experience will support us all very well. My thanks and appreciation to all who support this transition at our wonderful centre, especially to Sonam's family. Yours in the Dharma and human wisdom
2026 Our core community of course providers is now confirmed for the new year, with additional programs currently being considered. We’ll share updates as these offerings take shape. The Centre continues to hold a strong Dharma influence at its heart, this foundation helps guide the rhythm of our offerings and supports the deeper intention of Origins – to be a place of respite, learning and collective wellbeing. New 2026 retreat info will be uploaded to the website in time.
Closing for December and January Kindy on December 10th marks the final Origins event for the year. The Centre will then take a short summer pause and reopen with the first Wongkur on January 30. During this period, the Centre will be closed for retreat, though the Peace Pagoda will remain open for anyone who wishes to visit, sit quietly, or spend a moment in reflection.
